ESTHER & MACCABEES — DO THEY PASS THE TEST OF SCRIPTURE?

For many, these books are simply assumed to be Scripture because they appear in later Bibles…

As we are entering the month of December when some keep the new feast of Hanukkah never found in scripture anywhere but Maccabees, what happens when the book is proven invalidated? What about Esther’s Purim in the same sense? These holidays prove these books cannot be scripture or you would find these in the New Testament and even other Old Testament texts such as Ezra (for Purim). However, these new added feasts add to the calendar of 7 Feasts, the number of completion throughout scripture. Such adding is greatly rebuked throughout. 

When weighed against:

• Qumran (Temple Priests’ Library)

• Historical Canon Lists

• New Testament validation

• Torah alignment & doctrine

• Feast affirmation vs replacement

• Chronological and theological accuracy

Both Esther and Maccabees fail every major standard.

No Qumran manuscripts.

No early canon affirmation.

Not once cited by Yahusha, Paul, Peter, John — or any NT writer.

Both introduce new man-made holidays (Purim & Hanukkah).

And neither aligns with the Torah foundation required for Scripture.

Martin Luther knew this — and said so bluntly:

“I wish they had not come to us at all.”

Not because of prejudice…

but because they did not bear the marks of divinely preserved Scripture.

This study matters — because when we fail to test what we inherit,

we end up building doctrine on tradition rather than truth.

Scripture commands:

Prove All Things. Hold Fast That Which Is Good.

Not everything bound in leather is inspired.

Not every book repeated in seminaries was accepted by the Temple Priests.

Not every holiday celebrated today was ever commanded by Yahuah.

This generation must return to what is true — not what is merely repeated.
